18th day of Advent

We have had such a lovely morning. I so enjoy baking!

These are the cookies that we baked yesterday:

And here are this morning's achievements:

Spiced nuts (Gabe's family's tradition)

Peanut brittle

Oatmeal cranberry cookies (check out how beautiful the dough is!)

And the resulting cookie (oh my, they are amazing!!)

Jonathan enjoyed playing in the sink...

And "washing" the dishes for me...

We sure had a good time together!

How sweet! I love the sink shots. I have an almost 3 year old and he loves to sit on the bathroom counter, feet in a sink full of water and splash around, giggling the whole time. Such a fun age!

That last picture is adorable. Are you planning to bring some of these delectable treats with you for Christmas here? :-)

I can't wait to see you, Gabe, and Jonathan! I was telling Mom about Jonathan today - how he would hear the fountain in the hospital lobby and say "wah-duh? wah-duh?" until someone took him to splash his hands in it, and how he says "gah-dah" for Grandad. He sure loves Dad; he would follow him around saying "Gah-dah, gah-dah!" Mom enjoyed hearing about him.

Oh, he's so beautiful! I love the sink pictures. And just look at you! Pretty mama with her sweet babe.

OK, i'm going to go get caught up, but I sure hope you didn't post those beautiful photographs without the pertinent recipes. *ahem*

I just saw your picture over at Mommy Life - good for you! :-) You did a great job taking the picture of the two of you, I didn't even realize you took it until I saw your comment on Barbara's blog.

I wish I had a decent apron to use in a picture for her contest! The one I use is one Matt bought in college. It is coming apart a bit and too big for me, but it still does the job. Maybe I'll use this contest as an excuse to make myself one in early January when we get back from PA. We'll see!
