Couponing success!

I don't do nearly as much couponing now as I used to. We've changed up the way we eat (rather drastically) and there just aren't many coupons to be found for fresh produce, organic dairy products, and non-processed meat! Still, every now and then it works out. Today was such a day.

Vons trip:

10 ears of corn
baby carrots
lettuce
bananas
broccoli
chicken breast lunch meat
string cheese
2 packages Jones sausage
cream cheese
3 lunchables (because Jonathan thinks that I'm "the best mom EVER" if I occasionally give him one). :)
1 box cheez-its
and $2 spent on treats for the kids, since they hung in there while I messed with coupons and prices and sales!

Original total: $54.05
Total after all savings (including coupons and e-coupons): $21.53

That was fun. :)

Lollypops, anyone?

Today is National Lollypop Day! (Doesn't that just make you wonder...why is it National Lollypop Day, and whose idea was it, anyway?)

That aside, See's Candy is celebrating by giving a free lollypop (chocolate, butterscotch, or rootbeer) to every person who comes to their stores. I know for a fact that the store in the Whittwood Mall is participating - Josiah and Thomas and I were just there. :)

National Geographic Little Kids DEAL!

My boys think that getting magazines in the mail is THE coolest thing EVER. We get the free Lego magazine (sign up here if you haven't already) and we've purchased subscriptions (Ranger Rick, etc.) for them as gifts in the past. They just love it.

So I was really pleased to see this deal that Mamapedia is offering TOMORROW (April 14th): a one year (6 issue) subscription to National Geographic Little Kids magazine for only $10. Shutterfly Groupon deal

For the past six years I've been using Shutterfly to create photo books for each year of the kids' lives. I love the result - crisp, clean pages capturing the year, and I don't have to put all the photos into plastic sleeves!

Amazon and coupons???

I just purchased a box of Pampers for a friend who will be having a baby. Amazon (lovely company!) has grabbed my diaper business by offering Amazon Mom - basically you sign up for Amazon Mom, set up Subscribe & Save for your purchase, and voila! reasonably priced diapers without having to set foot outside my house (or remember to re-order before running out). Love it.

What I'm loving even more right now is that there was a little box under the item price asking me if I wanted to "clip a coupon" to apply to the product.

One click and $1.50 was taken off my total. And that was on TOP of the 30% discount I was already receiving.

I am going to be one happy, happy camper if this catches on. :)

Stellar deal on coconut oil!

I usually purchase coconut oil through Amazon. With their subscribe and save option, it is (generally) far cheaper than anywhere else. HOWEVER, today Tropical Traditions is offering an amazing deal!
