Smoothies and...soup!

See my new toy? Isn't it BEAUTIFUL???

It was one mighty expensive toy, but I'm so excited about it. I really believe it is an investment in our family's health for years to come.

Yesterday evening we made strawberry/spinach smoothies. It turned out beautifully thick and so creamy. That's one of the most noticeable differences, I think, between a Vitamix and a typical blender - the Vitamix makes it so much smoother. There just aren't any particles left after that crazy motor/blade combo does its magic!

This morning we had orange/carrot julius. Yum!! Thomas and Josiah both asked for full cups and seconds, they liked it so much.

Tonight I tried making soup. Incredibly, it works. I put steamed cauliflower, milk, cheese, and some spices into the blender, let it run for 6 minutes, and out came hot, steamy, absolutely delicious soup. I tell you, I'm never going to cook on the stove again. Who needs a kitchen when you have a Vitamix?

Fun! We love our Vitamix- I used it to grind wheat AND mix the dough before I got a grain grinder! Ours is super old- it was a wedding gift to my parents in the 80's :)

You took the plunge! The new kitchen just wasn't complete without it. :) I use our VitaMix pretty much every day. You will not regret the purchase!! Happy blending.

Glad you love it as much as I love mine! We're even taking ours on vacation with us next week. Expect to totally forget about solid food for the next week or so as you tap into its awesomeness.

I am green with envy! I'll be looking for a good deal!

Katie, the link that I included is the best deal I was able to find ANYWHERE. So unless you luck out at a garage sale, you might just want to save your pennies and get one of these. :)

Wow, neat! I've been vaguely eyeing those for years and wondering if they are as great as their advertising. Every time I blend grain with buttermilk for blender batter pancakes/waffles I wonder how long the motor on our puny Target blender will hold out. So far so good, but who knows!
