Sleep - or the lack thereof

This morning's conversation (at 5:45am)

Emily: "Honey, I must have a huge sleep debt. Last night I got lots of sleep and I still feel exhausted!"

Gabe: "You only got seven hours minus interruptions. "

Oh.

Maybe that's why I'm exhausted. When a GOOD night is seven hours and two nursings, you know your perspective has changed. Unfortunately, I don't think my body has changed!

Prayer would be appreciated, friends. I'm functioning, and I suppose on the outside look pretty together...but I don't feel very together.

Nooo!! Don't remind me!! :-)

I remember those conversations... these days I am very aware of how much (uninterrupted) sleep I am getting and how this is going to change very soon. I woke up this morning thinking about what it was like when Emma was really little. On one hand I'm looking forward to getting to cuddle this new wonderful little person when everyone else is asleep and there are no distractions... but on the other hand, well, uninterrupted sleep sure is attractive!

I'll certainly be keeping you in my prayers.

I don't feel like my life is very together either.

So, remind me never to have kids. ;)

Hang in there, Emily. You are a great mother.
