Ma Torg, I have NO idea. We don't have a bug problem, and it has been too cold for grasshoppers for quite awhile.
I do know that Jonathan has a memory like a steel trap, so it is possible that he saw a dead grasshopper last summer and decided it would be fun to imitate it.
Of course they're dead grasshoppers - that pose needs no explanation! ;)
Hey Emily, remember that wonderful (hah) game we used to play when we were kids, "get-around-the-house-without-being-seen"? You should introduce your kiddos to that - they might find it enjoyable.
